Game Recap

In our first set junior and first time varsity player, Amaya Kuznicki, had an amazing 9 point serving streak. She was without a doubt our strongest server this evening.

The second & third sets were tough, Garden City put up a fight and we lost by only two points each set. Usually the girls are solid servers and tonight I don’t know what was going on but unfortunately we lost way too many points serving. There was a lot of tension and frustration shown on the court among our own team and that simply can not happen.

The fourth set we took control from the beginning. Danya Hamood had a great 7 point serving streak.

Finally in the fifth set we won 15-9, again Amaya Kuznicki did a fantastic job serving. Some other notable stats from tonight’s game would be Senior/Captain Brooke Gailliard who had a total of 14 kills. Danya Hamood our setter did a great job as well offensively bringing in a total of 8 kills by tipping and Emma Ainsworth had 7 strong kills. Senior Emily Flohr who is one of our outside hitters had 6 kills. Libero, senior Rebecca Creedon, did a great job passing defensively and was even complimented by the Garden City coach for a job well done.

Overall I am proud of them for the win tonight. We have some great players that have been injured and I can’t thank them and the other girls enough for continuing to support their teammates with encouraging words. They truly keep each other up and want each other to do well and that’s what makes a team great.
