It was a chilly evening at Edsel Ford as the Thunderbirds welcomed the cross town rival Tractors from Fordson. The Thunderbirds carried the play but weren’t connecting as well as they had in their first game. After some solid play Edsel broke the ice literally and figuratively as sophomore forward Sadie Gerlach scored from a nice feed from fellow sophomore Peyton Marion. 8 minutes later Francis Trimble ripped the old onion bag after receiving a ball from Gerlach. Halftime came and went and the T-Birds came out and continued to carry the play. 5 minutes into the second stanza Sadie Gerlach made her presence felt with another goal from a ball from fellow forward Marion. Finally, with about 6 minutes left Peyton Marion buried one of her own with freshman Lizzy Kowalski getting the assist. The final goal iced the victory for the already frozen Thunderbirds.
Edsel will continue the two game home stand Monday as the Trenton Trojans make a stop for what will be Edsels second league game and third overall. Come on by and check them out.
