The JV Lady Thunderbirds opened their season against the Rail Splitters of Ypsilanti, an it didn’t kick off they would have liked. Two first half goals gave the Rail Splitters an early lead and things weren’t looking good. However, freshman Peyton Marion began to unleash the fury, scoring one goal before the break and another after early in the second half to tie things up. From there, Edsel controlled the game and had their breakthrough when sophomore captain Lara Kochak found sophomore Sara Paison in front of the net for a hard earned goal to put the Thunderbirds in front. Peyton Marion was still hungry, however, and she completed her hat trick with a sweet strike to put the game away late in the game. The ladies deserve a lot of credit for the comeback win. Great job!
