After what seemed like an eternity, the Edsel Ford Thunderbirds finally returned to action Friday evening to host the Titans of Southgate Anderson High School. The Thunderbirds had a short bench, but the players who were there were able to play big and not miss a beat as they came away with a 2-0 win. Savanah Rayburn had the start in goal while the rest of the team was shuffled around more than a Three Card Monte game on a New York City street corner. Zoe Megee gave the T-Birds their first midway through the first half as Edsel Ford dominated possession and chances. The second half started a bit more in the Titans favor, but they were not able to sustain pressure and the Thunderbirds soon regained the advantage. Sadie Gerlach scored the second goal from a great feed from Jennifer Vasquez. Things got a tad chippy from their but the T-Birds kept their composure and finished the shut out. Edsel Ford has big week coming up hosting a solid Crestwood squad Monday for the first league game, then taking their show on the road Wednesday to Fordson then Thursday to Allen Park.
